RESEARCH AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AT ITSP IN 2008-09

The International Trauma Studies Program is in the process of revising its Comprehensive Course in Trauma Studies in New York and will be not be offering the course this coming academic year. 

We will be offering a number of training and research opportunities from the Fall of 2008 – to the Summer of 2009:

Research practicums and internships in family and community based approaches to massive trauma and loss in NYC.  The International Trauma Studies Program sponsors African Refuge, a community based psychosocial program for African Survivors of Torture and Refugee Trauma living in Staten Island, NY.   A limited number of unpaid internships will be available during the coming academic year to work at African Refuge or other community based initiatives.  For more information, please contact:

Field based training program in Arua, Uganda in collaboration with TPO Uganda and Global Psychosocial Initiatives (GPSI).  This three-week course, offered in the Fall 2008 and and Winter 2009 focuses on the development of mental health and psychosocial programming in international contexts.  Training the trainer programs (TOT) are also offered periodically.  For more information, please see our website:
